    Bisquick Chocolate Swirl Cake

    List of Ingredients


    3 cups Original Bisquick
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup shortening
    1 cup cold milk or water
    1 tablespoon vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, melted and cooled
    chocolate frosting below

    Chocolate Frosting

    1/3 cup margarine or butter softened
    2 ounces unsweetened bakingchocolate melted and cooled
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    about 2 tablespoons milk


    Preheat oven to 350F. Grease & flour 13x9. Beat all ingredients except chocolate and chocolate frosting in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour 3 cups of the batter into pan. Beat melted chocolate into remaining batter on medium speed until well blended. Drop chocolate batter randomly by tablespoonfuls onto white batter. Swirl knife though batters for swirled design. Bake 30-35 minutes or til toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Frost with chocolate frosting.
    Makes 16 servings.

    Chocolate Frosting

    Stir in margarine and chocolate in medium bowl until blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth and spreadable.
