    Ding Dong Cake

    1 chocolate cake mix
    2 cups powdered sugar
    1 pkg. cream cheese
    1 small tub cool whip
    1 container chocolate frosting


    Cook cake mix according to directions. Take cake out of pan and cool on rack or kitchen towel. Cut cake in half length-wise (makes 2 thin layers). Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and cool whip together in bowl. Put first layer of cake back in dish. Top with sugar mixture. Place second layer of cake on top of this. Then frost top layer of cake.

    You will be amazed at how much this cake tastes like a Ding Dong cupcake. You can keep the cake in the freezer. It works out very well this way. The cake does not get "hard" and makes for a cool treat that is easy to get out of the dish.
