    Maple Walnut Butter Cake

    1 cup butter
    1 cups honey
    4 eggs (separated)
    3 tsp. maple flavouring
    3 cups whole wheat flour (or 3 cups white flour)
    tsp. salt
    tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 cup milk
    1 cup chopped walnuts

    Recipe



    Cream butter, add honey. Beat egg yolks until light and add to butter mixture. Add flavouring and beat well. Add flour, salt, soda and baking powder alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Fold in walnuts and stiffly beaten egg whites.

    Bake in greased 9 inch layer pan at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) for 30-40 minutes. Makes a lovely cake for special occasions.
