    Cooked Custard, 1 1/2 qts, double recipe fills our freezer, 15 pounds of ice

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 C. milk
    • 1 T. flour
    • 1 C. sugar
    • 1 egg slightly beaten
    • 1/8 t. salt
    • 1-2 t. vanilla
    • 1/2 pint whipping cream
    • 1 C. milk


    1. Cook milk, flour, egg and salt over hot water for 10 minutes. (don't worry if it looks curdled)
    2. Cool and add vanilla, whipping cream and milk.
    3. Strain, freeze, let set 4 hours to ripen.

    Serves 8
