French- Fried Onion Rings
They are fried, crunchy and a great source of comfort, calories and flavor.
List of Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Oil for frying
- 3 large onions, sliced and soaked in ice water for 1 hour
- Combine the egg, milk and vegetable oil and mix well. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt and mix until smooth.
- In a deep frying pan or a deep fryer, heat oil to 350. Towel dry the onion rings, removing as much water as possible. Toss the onion slices and batter together. Try to separate the onion rings and, using long-handled tongs, dip the onion rings into the hot oil.
- Turn the rings to make sure they are fried on both sides and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
