    Orange Nut Honey Bread

    List of Ingredients




    2 T shortening
    1 C honey
    1 egg
    1/2 t salt
    1/2 C orange juice
    1 t orange extract
    1 t vanilla
    1 t orange zest or dried peel
    2 1/2 C flour
    1/4 t baking soda
    1 1/4 t baking powder
    1/4 C pecans, chopped

    Recipe



    Cream shortening and honey. Add egg and flavorings and mix well. In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir juice into batter, alternating with dry ingredients. Beat well. Fold in pecans and orange peel. Bake in greased loaf pan at 325 for 70 minutes or til tests done.

    This is good for breakfast, toasted and spread with butter.
