COLA CAKE

List of Ingredients




2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 cups shortening
1 cups margarine, divided
6 tablespoons Baking Cocoa , divided
1 cups soda (i.e., coca cola, pepsi, etc)
1/2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoons baking soda
2 eggs
6 tablespoons soda
1 pounds powdered sugar
1 cups pecans, chopped




Recipe



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift together flour and sugar, stir in miniature marshmallows and set aside.

In a saucepan, bring to a boil shortening, 1/2 cup margarine, 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and 1 cup soda. Remove from the heat and pour over the flour mixture. Stir in buttermilk, baking soda, and eggs. Stir until mixed but do not beat. Pour into a greased 13" x 9" pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool before frosting.

Frosting: In a saucepan bring to a boil 1/2 cup margarine, 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa, and 6 tablespoons soda. Boil for 1 minute, remove from the heat, and gradually add powdered sugar. Stir in chopped pecans and spread when smooth.
