    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
    • 2 tablespoons chili powder
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans, undrained
    • 1 (6 ounce) package cornbread mix


    Instructions


    1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion and garlic. When the meat is browned, remove from heat and drain excess fat. Add the tomato sauce and chili powder. Spoon the mixture into a lightly greased 12x8x2 inch baking dish. Top with the cheese and spoon the beans over the cheese. In a bowl, prepare the cornbread according to package directions. Pour over the top of the beans. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until the cornbread is golden brown.
    2. Yield: 6 servings
