    • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
    • 1 pound sharp cheddar shredded, at room temperature
    • 1 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt


    Instructions


    1. preheat oven to 300F.
    2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy.
    3. Add the cheese and mix until blended
    4. Add the flour and salt mix to form a dough.
    5. refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up the dough, then place it in a cookie press.
    6. fitted with a ridged tip. Pipe the dough in 2-inch strips onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    7. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
    8. Remove to racks to cool.
