    Recipe Introduction

This recipe is similar to the one I remember my Mom making when I was a kid.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 c. flour
    • 1 t. salt
    • 1/2 t. garlic salt
    • 1/2 t. pepper
    • 2 lbs. round steak, cut in serving size pieces
    • 3 T. canola oil
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • 2 c. chopped green pepper
    • 1 c. chopped celery
    • 1 c. chopped onion
    • 2 cans diced tomatoes
    • 1 c. beef broth
    • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce

    Instructions

    1. Combine flour, salt, pepper and garlic salt in plastic bag.
    2. Add meat and shake well until beef is well coated.
    3. Pound beef with mallet to tenderize.
    4. Brown beef in oil.
    5. Add garlic, green pepper, celery and onion to skillet. Cook and stir for 10 minutes.
    6. Add tomatoes, beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir all together.
    7. Pour into oven-proof casserole dish. Cover.
    8. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours.
    9. Remove from oven.
    10. Combine 1/4 c. water and 2 T. flour together.
    11. Add to meat mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbly and thickened.
    12. Serve with cooked potatoes.
