Bacon-Tomato Pasta

1/2 pound fettuccine or linguini
5 slices thick bacon, snipped small
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 pint canned tomatoes, drained
handful chopped fresh basilRecipe
In lg. saucepan, cook pasta as directed. Drain; return to pot and keep warm. Meanwhile, in skillet, cook bacon until crisp, drain. Reserve one tablespoon of drippings, add onion to drippings, cook until tender. Crumble bacon. Add bacon, tomato and basil to onion. Cook just until heated. Add to pasta; toss gently to mix. Top with cut up grilled chicken and fresh black pepper.
