    A highly prized recipe from the Junior League of Boston.

    List of Ingredients




    1-2 large onions, chopped
    1 bottle clam juice
    12 oz minced clams*
    6 oz whole clams*
    4 lg raw potatoes, pared and diced
    2-3 tbsp butter
    4 cups mil2 cups medium or heavy cream

    *reserve liquid

    Recipe



    Saute onion in butter in a deep kettle until transparaent. Add the bottle clam juice plus theliquid from the clams. Add potatoes and cook until the potatoes are just tender. Add remaining ingredients and bring to the boiling point.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Heat before serving.
