    Aunt Gwen's "Never-Fail" Chocolate Cake

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups sugar
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup cocoa
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 cup vegetable oil
    1 cup water
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Recipe

    Sift dry ingredients together twice. Add buttermilk, oil, and eggs. Blend together well. Add water and vanilla. Bake in greased 9- x 13- x 2-inch pan at 350� F. for 40 minutes or until cake tests done. This is a thin batter and makes a very moist cake.

    Frosting:
    3 Tblsp. cocoa
    1/3 cup milk
    1 stick butter
    1 lb. Confectioners' sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

    Place cocoa, milk, and butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Beat well.
