Armenian Nutmeg Cake

2 cups light brown sugar
2 cups pastry flour or all-purpose
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1 egg
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 cup sour cream
Cinnamon
4 oz. chopped pecans
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350� F. and grease a 9-inch square pan. Blend sugar, flour and butter, cut butter in like pie dough; divide mixture in half. Spread one-half in pan; press down a little. Add egg, nutmeg, soda, salt and sour cream to second half; beat well. Pour onto mixture in pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and chopped pecans. Bake 40 minutes without opening oven. Cool in pan.
