    1-lb. lean ground beef
    1 med. onion - chopped
    1 clove garlic - minced
    1 (29-oz.) can tomatoes
    3 beef bouillon cubes
    3 c. water (more as needed)
    1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce (salt free)
    1 can kidney or northern beans
    1 sm. head of cabbage -chopped
    pepper
    1-2 tsp. chili powder (more or less to taste, adds heat)

    Brown ground beef, drain fat if necessary. Add onions and cook with beef until onions tender. Dissolve beef bouillon cubes in water. Add all ingredients to large soup
    pot.
    Simmer for at least 2 hours. *Can be simmered in a crock pot after browning ground beef.
