    Here's a food list for a healthy Care Package:


    GORP. Good Ole Raisins and Peanuts, individualized to your child's taste. Mix in some of their favorite dried cereal, raisin, nuts, seeds, pretzels, and dried fruit. Pack in individual, resealable sandwich bags.

    Juice boxes of 100 percent juice, in their favorite varieties.

    Roasted pumpkin seeds. 1 cup pumpkin seeds (available shelled at natural food stores), 1 teaspoon olive oil, and sea salt to taste. Coat the pumpkin seeds with oil. Place in a shallow baking pan. Roast at 350F for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Dry on paper towel and sprinkle with sea salt.

    Low fat, individually wrapped granola, fruit or cereal bars.

    Peanut butter cookies. Make these homemade and use all natural peanut butter. Wrap pairs of cookies in plastic wrap.
    Popcorn balls.

    Mini rice cakes

    Individual sandwich bags of whole wheat, bite-size crackers.

    Individual sandwich bags of pretzel twists (less apt to break than sticks).

    Individual sandwich bags of animal crackers.
    Individual sandwich bags of sesame sticks.
    Individual sandwich bags of bagel crisps.

    Individual bags of their favorite dried cereal.

    Natural fruit leathers.

    Individual bags of snack mixes found in bins at natural food stores, such as corn nuts, trail mix, California Mix, granola, etc.

    Homemade cereal mix.
    Cinnamon Shredded Wheat. Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a large pan over medium heat. Stir in 3 cups of spoon-size shredded wheat and cook stirring for about 5 minutes. Add one tablespoon cinnamon sugar, stir to coat, and cook another 2 minutes, stirring carefully. Drain and cool on paper towels. Pack into resealable sandwich bags
