    Recipe Introduction

    Origins Unknown

    List of Ingredients

    2 tbsp cf butter
    4oz sugar
    1 egg
    1tsp baking powder
    pinch salt
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    1tsp water
    6 1/2 oz gf baby porridge/oatmeal

    Recipe

    (NOTE ON OATS:
Oats do not contain gluten. However, because oats are a major agricultural product they are handled by the same mills, processing plants, and grain elevators that handle wheat, barley and rye. This results in enough contamination of the oats that they can readily trigger a gluten allergy when ingested.

The good news is that there are companies now providing non-contaminated oats. These can often be found in your local health food store or online at one of the many gluten free food retailers. )

Preheat the oven to 300 deg F, 150 deg C.
Cream the butter with the sugar.
Stir in the egg, baking powder, salt, vanilla and water.
Then, add the porridge/oatmeal slowly until well combined.
Knead for a few minutes until the dough is smooth.
Flatten the dough with your hands and slice into bars.
Bake the bars for around 20 mins, until dry and hard.
Set aside, uncovered, for several hours.
