    Stonecroft Cross-Country Cookbook/1981
    2-1/2 T flour
    1/2 c milk
    1/2 c shortening
    1/4 t salt
    10 T sugar
    1 t vanilla

    1 Mix first two items and cook until thick. Cool.
    2 Mix shortening and sugar; then add salt and vanilla. Mix the cooled mixture in and beat with a mixer until it is very thick and creamy. Frost the cake. Can use one packet of liquid unsweetened chocolate to make a chocolate icing. Sprinkle ground walnuts on top of cake, if desired.
