    Recipe Introduction

Remember the old song "Go tell Aunt Mandy the old gray goose is dead?" Well, us young uns had this ending--"John Thomas kilt it, John Thomas kilt it. John Thomas kilt it with a piece of hard cornbread."

    List of Ingredients

    • 1c. cornmeal (water ground)
    • 2T. melted butter
    • 1/2t. salt
    • Cold water

    Instructions

    1. Mix with salt, butter and just enough cold water to make a hard dough.
    2. Now, if you're cookin atop the stove in a greased griddle or skillet, mash the dough as thin as you like.
    3. Old folks used to do this with three fingers. Use a medium fire in the stove or in the oven.
