    Pot Stickers


    List of Ingredients


    • Three quarter pound boneless pork chops grinded in food processor (can substitute ground pork)
    • 1 8oz can water chestnuts (drained)
    • 8 green onions (white parts only)
    • 2 garlic cloves
    • 1 to 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 and a half teaspoon dry sherry
    • 1 and a half teaspoon cornstarch
    • One half teaspoon fresh ginger or one quarter teaspoon powdered
    • One half teaspoon sesame oil
    • One quarter teaspoon sugar
    • Square won ton wrappers
    • Water for brushing
    • Dipping Sauces
    • Tempura dipping sauce ( found in asian section)
    • Soy Sauce
    • Chili oil
    • Rice vinegar


    Instructions


    1. Grind pork chops in food processor.Add water chestnuts,
      green onions,garlic cloves,soy sauce,sherry,cornstarch,
      ginger,sesame oil, and sugar.Process until well combined (mixture will look mushy)
    2. Next get a small bowl of water, pastry brush, platter
      and a plate to assemble (these can be assembled and cooked later)
    3. Place a teaspoon of filling in each wrapper, brush edge with water. fold wrapper over filling to form triangle.Pleat edges to form half moon.Pressing edges to seal.Place on platter pleated side up. If preparing in advance.Wrap tightly and refrigerate up to 6 hours before usage.
    4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large fry pan or electric skillet over medium high heat.Stand as many pot stickers in pan as will fit in a single layer. Cook until bottoms are crisp and brown about 5 minutes. Add enough water (or chicken broth)to cover bottom of pan
      Cover and steam until cooked through 7 to 8 minutes. Serve immediately with dipping sauces.


    Final Comments


    Makes approx 32 pot stickers.You can also use this as a filling for wontons. Fold wonton style and deep fry
