1, 18.25 ounce package German chocolate cake mix
14 caramels
1/2 cup margarine, (1 stick)
1/3 cup milk
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup minced or chopped walnuts
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 9x13x2 inch baking pan.
Prepare the boxed cake mix with the package directions.
Pour half the batter into the baking pan.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Melt caramels with the margarine and milk in a saucepan
over a low heat, stirring frequently.
Carefully pour over warm, baked cake.
Sprinkle with the chocolate chips and nuts.
Spoon the remaining cake batter over top.
Reduce oven temperature to 250 degrees F.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Increase oven temperature to 350 degrees F., and bake an
additional 10 minutes.
