    Basic Ice Cream Cake

    Recipe Introduction


    This is a basic recipe for ice cream cake. You can vary it by using different types of cake and ice cream.


    List of Ingredients


    • cake (chocolate, vanilla etc).
    • ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan etc. Use your imagination!)
    • extra vanilla icecream to cover cake.


    Instructions


    1. Cut cake in half and divide icecream in half.
    2. Cover each layer of cake with icecream. You should now have a 4 layered cake. Use a tray that is freezer friendly.
    3. Slice the cake all the way around, so that the ice cream layer and cake layer are the same size.
    4. Place cake in the freezer for 1-2 hours until cold.
    5. When you are ready to frost the cake, remove vanilla icecream from freezer, and let it melt.
    6. Remove cake from freezer, and cover entire cake with vanilla icecream.
    7. Return to freezer until ready to serve.
    8. Remove cake from freezer 10 minutes prior to serving. Slice with a knife heated in hot water.
