    1/2 cup butter or margarine -- at room temperature
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    2/3 cup pumpkin, canned
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons molasses
    1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
    TOPPING:
    3 tablespoons cold butter
    1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    1/3 cup chopped pecans

    Grease 12 regular or 24 mini muffins cups

    In a large bowl with electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, baking powder,
    and salt until pale and fluffy. Beat in eggs, Gently stir in flour
    alternating with buttermilk beginning and ending with flour until well
    blended.

    Bake 375?F. for 17-20 minutes for regular size or 14-16 minutes for minis.
    Cool in pan for 5 minutes then remove muffins from pans and cool
    completely on wire rack.

    Yield:
    "1 dozen"
