    Recipe

Start with 1 package of Pillsbury Refrigerated Sugar Cookies. Chill the dough thoroughly.

Cut the dough in half; refrigerate one half of the dough while you work with the other half.

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Generously sprinkle about 1/4 cup of flour onto the work surface. Remove the cookie dough from the wrapper; coat the sides of the dough with flour.

Roll out the dough to 1/8-inch thickness using additional flour to prevent sticking.

Cut the rolled dough into desired shapes with cookie cutters dipped in flour. Leave little space between shapes when cutting them out. Gently remove excess flour from the cookies.

Carefully remove any excess dough from around the cookies. Shape this dough into a ball, chill it and reroll it.

With a pancake turner or spatula, gently lift the cut out cookies; place them 2 inches apart on cool, ungreased cookie sheets.

Leave the cookies plain for decorating later, or sprinkle with colored decorator sugar or candy sprinkles.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet with a spatula. Cool completely, then decorate as desired
