    Recipe Introduction

This is from Joe DiMaggio's Sports Bar and Grill....well it's not THAT Joe DiMaggio, but the owner's name is Joe DiMaggio, and he has four very successful sports restaurants in Minnesota and North Dakota. This is a great dish from their place in Grand Forks.

    List of Ingredients

    4 oz. virgin olive oil
    1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 cup julienne cut red pepper
    1/2 oz. frozen sweet peas
    1 oz. sliced black olives
3 oz. fresh round button mushrooms
    1 oz. dice red onion
    1/2 oz. real bacon bits
1 cup cooked sweet Italian sausage
2 oz. of chopped sundried tomatoes
3 to 4 whole peperoncini peppers
    Freshly grated romano cheese
Italian seasoned bread crumbs (optional though recommended)
Pinch of basis, oregano, and salt and pepper
    9 oz. of penne pasta

    Recipe

    1. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add penne pasta, and cook al dente (firm). Rinse and drain.

    2. In a sauce pan, heat oil lightly and sautT the garlic until golden. Add red onion, red pepper, mushrooms, sausage, bacon bits, olives, sundried tomatoes, and peas. Toss until tender, adding seasonings throughout tossing process. Add pasta and peperoncinis, coating pasta with oil, garlic, and ingredients. Place pasta in bowl, sprinkle with Italian bread crumbs, and romano cheese. Serve immediately.
