    Bourbon Sprouts

    Source of Recipe

Floyd, the Food Guy, RMEWS News

    List of Ingredients

1 lb. brussel sprouts, cleaned and cut in half
    1 T. butter
    1 T. brown sugar
    1 T. bourbon

    Recipe

Place the cleaned and halved brussel sprouts in a pot, add a dash of salt, barely cover with boiling water, cover the pot, bring to a boil and cook for 8-10 minutes. They make need to cook a bit longer if you like them more tender. Taste one to determine how much longer they should boil. When the desired tenderness is reached, drain the water from the pot. Add the butter, brown sugar and bourbon, toss, cover and allow to sit for a few minutes so the flavors meld. Serve with a steak or a chop and some mashed potatoes.

    Serves 2-4.

    HINTS:
Adding a handful of chopped nut meats adds another dimension of texture to this fun tasting dish.
