Oatmeal Caramel Bars

In large mixing bowl, beat on medium speed for 30 seconds:
1 cup margarine
Add and beat until combined:
1 cup flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Stir in:
1-1/2 cups flour
3 cups oats
Press two-thirds (about 3-1/3 cups) of the dough into an ungreased jelly roll pan (use Saran). Sprinkle with:
1 cup chocolate chips
� cup chopped nuts
Melt in microwave in smallest Pyrex measuring cup:
24 vanilla caramels
2 Tbs. milk
Drizzle caramel mixture over chocolate and nuts.
Drop remaining dough of teaspoons over the top.
Bake at 350�F. for 20 minutes or until top is light brown. Cool in pan on rack. Cut into bars.
Yield: 60 bars
Notes: While warm, run plastic knife around pan edges to loosen, flip onto cutting board.
