    Burger Toppings

    These toppings make enough for 4 to 6 burgers.

    Onion and Garlic
    Saute 1 sliced onion with 1 crushed garlic clove in 1 tablespoon
    butter over medium-high heat. Sprinkle with cayenne. Stir often until
    soft, 5 minutes. Season with salt. Spoon over beef and veal burgers.


    Curried Dijon
    Mix 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard and 2 tablespoons sour cream with 1/4
    teaspoon curry powder. Spoon over beef, chicken and lamb burgers.


    Perfect Pickle Relish
    Finely chop 1 large dill pickle. Stir with 2 tablespoons mayonnaise,
    1 tablespoon chopped green onion and 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce.
    Spoon over fish, chicken and beef burgers.


    Hot Tex-Mex
    Stir 2 tablespoons barcecue sauce with 2 tablespoons salsa. Spoon
    over beef and pork burgers.


    Creamy Horseradish
    Mix 2 tablespoons horseradish with 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 chopped
    green onion and pinch of pepper. Spoon over beef or veal burgers.


    Kid-Pleasing Bacon 'n' Cheese
    Blend 1/4 cup cheese spread with 1 tablespoon bacon bits and 1
    tablespoon ketchup. Spread on beef burgers.


    Pesto Goat Cheese
    Stir 1/4 cup creamy goat cheese with 1 tablespoon pesto sauce. Spoon
    over beef, lamb or veal burgers.


    Italian Express
    Mix 1/4 cup pizza or spaghetti sauce with 1 tabblespoon grated
    Parmesan cheese, 1/4 teaspoon each hot red pepper flakes, dried basil
    and dried oregano. Spoon over beef burgers.


    Honeyed Sauce
    Blend 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard with 2 tablespoons sour cream and 1
    tablespoon liquid honey. Spoon over beef, pork and veal burgers.


    Spanish Sauce
    Stir 1/2 cup chili or salsa sauce with 1/2 cup sliced stuffed olives,
    1/4 cup finely chopped Spanish onion and 1 crushed garlic clove.
    Spoon over fish, chicken and beef burgers.
