    PIckled Corn and Beans

    List of Ingredients




    corn on cob
    green beans
    pickling salt
    stone jar or crock

    Cook corn in water on cob until done; save water.
    String and break beans. Cook until done. Place clean cotton
    sack or old pillowcase in crock. Layer corn, then beans inside
    sack, salting down each layer (about 1/3 cup). After last
    layer, pour water from corn over corn and beans. Pull sack
    closed and tie. Place an old plate on sack and weight down
    with gallon milk jug of water to pack corn and beans down.
    Takes about 2 weeks to pickle.
