Brownie Shortbread

List of Ingredients
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, room temperature
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Brownie Layer:
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, room temperature
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and 11 X 7 inch baking pan.
- In food processor or with electric mixer, process or beat the butter, flour and sugar until mixture holds together and forms a dough. Press over bottom of pan.
- Bake 20 minutes or until light golden and firm when touched.
- Brownie Layer: Heat butter and chocolate in microwave until melted. Stir.
- In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, flur and baking powder until blended. Whisk in chocolate mixture. Pour over shortbread base.
- Bake 20 minutes or until top feels firm.
- Cool in pan before cutting into bars.
