    Sugar Cookies

    This is a wonderful recipe for Sugar Cookies. The dough is very easy to handle for making cut out cookies. From the Great American Bake Sale.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup butter/margarine, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 3/4 cups flour
    • 1 tsp. vanilla or 1/2 tsp. almond extract


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg.
    3. Mix in flour and vanilla to make a smooth dough.
    4. Roll dough out 1/8 inch thick on well-floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
    5. Bake 8-10 minutes until cookies are "set" and pale brown.
    6. Lift cookies off sheet while still warm.
