    HERMAN BREAD

    .25 ounce pkg active dry yeast
    1 cup lukewarm water
    1 cup sourdough starter
    3 cups all purpose flour

    HERMAN BREAD

    In a small mixing bowl, combine yeast mixture with the Herman starter, oil, c cups flour and salt; mix well. Add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time stirring after each addition. When dough has pulled together turn it out onto lightly floured surface and kneed till smooth and plastic (about 8 minutes) Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with damp cloth and let rise in a warm plafce till doubled in volume, about 1 hour. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Deflate dough and turn it out onto lightly floured surface and form into loaf. Place into prepared pan. Cover with damp cloth and let rise till doubled in volume, abaout 40 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake in preheated oven 30-35 min or till top of loaf is golden brown and bottom sounds hollow when tapped.
