    List of Ingredients

    Apple Glazed Ham

    16 servings
5 to 6 pound cooked bone-in smoked ham
1/3 cup apple cider or juice
    1/3 cup apple chutney
    1/3 cup brown sugar
     teaspoon whole cloves
     teaspoon whole allspice
teaspoon arrowroot dissolved in 2 teaspoons water
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Drain ham and put onto a large sheet of aluminum foil set into a roasting pan. Score top of ham with deep slashes in a diamond pattern. Drape another sheet of foil over ham and fold both sheets around it. Bake 20 minutes a pound or until a meat thermometer reaches 140 degrees. While the ham is baking, prepare the glaze. Combine apple cider, chutney, brown sugar, cloves and allspice in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook 5 minutes. Stir in the dissolved arrowroot and simmer 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside. About 30 minutes before the ham is done, remove foil covering ham and pour half of glaze over the top, making sure that some gets into the slashes. (It's not necessary to remove spices first.) Repeat after 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. If making a day in advance, wrap in foil and refrigerate. Slice the next day.
