    List of Ingredients


    • 3 C. unbleached flour
    • 1/4 C. lard or shortening
    • scant 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    • 1 tsp. sea salt
    • warm water


    Instructions


    1. Put all ingredients into a small bowl, adding water until soft dough is formed. Flour tabletop. Knead dough until smooth ball is formed, approx. 3 minutes. Cover and let stand about 15 minutes. Divide dough into 12 equal parts. Roll these into small balls, cover.
    2. Preheat iron griddle. Roll a ball into a tortilla and cook on the un-greased griddle. While tortilla is cooking roll another ball. Stack on a towel and cover as you go to prevent drying. Continue until all balls have been rolled and cooked.



    Final Comments


    These are wonderful sweet too. Just add sugar and cinnamon.
