    • 1 tbsp. butter
    • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 2 tbsp. salad oil
    • 1 tsp. lemon juice
    • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/2 tsp. pepper
    • 2 lb. flank steak, cut lightly in a crisscross pattern


    1. Melt butter in a skillet
    2. Cook and stir onions and 1/4 tsp salt until onions are soft
    3. Keep warm over low heat
    4. Stir together salid oil, lemon juice, garlic, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper
    5. Brush on top of meat
    6. Set oven at broil or 550 degrees
    7. Broil meat 3" from heat about 8 minutes or until brown, turn meat brush with oil mixture and broil about another 5-8 minutes
    8. Cut meat across the grain at a slanted angle into very thin slices and serve with reserved onions
