    • 4 chicken legs
    • 4 chicken thighs
    • 1/3 cup soy sauce
    • 2 1/2 tbsp. honey
    • 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger (1/2 tsp. ground)
    • 2 tbsp. dry sherry
    • 1/4 cup of salad oil
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 2 shallots (including tops) thin diagonal slices


    1. Place chicken in a plastic bag
    2. Combine soya, honey, ginger, sherry, oil, garlic, onions and pour over chicken in the plastic bag
    3. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 5 hours, turning occasionally
    4. Pour off and discard marinade
    5. Place chicken, skin side up on a rack in a roasting pan
    6. Bake uncouvered in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour
