    Desserts-Cake: Cinnamon Pudding Cake

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/2 cups flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon allspice
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3/4 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1 cup molasses
    3 cups hot water
    3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350�F. Blend together flour, soda, spices and salt; set aside. Cream 1/2 cup of the butter and the granulated sugar; add egg and beat until well combined. Add flour mixture alternately with molasses and 1 cup of the hot water. Pour into 13x9-inch pan. Sprinkle top with brown sugar. Combine remaining butter and hot water and mix well. Pour over top of batter. DO NOT STIR. Bake at 350�F for 40 to 55 minutes. (Cake will crack on top.) Serve warm, spooned into dessert dishes with ice cream or whipped cream. Makes 8 to 12 servings.
