Molasses Ginger Cookies

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon ground ginger
2 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
3/4 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temp
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup lightly packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 large eggRecipe
Preheat oven to 375�F and lightly grease cookie sheets. Sift flour, baking soda, all spices and slat. Using mixer on medium speed, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Scrape bowl and then add molasses, mixing well. Add egg and mix until incorporated. Scrape bowl again and then mix in flour on low speed. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons 2 inches apart onto baking sheets. Bake for 15-16 minutes, until still slightly soft. Let cool completely on baking sheets. Store in airtight container with plastic wrap between layers. Makes 16 cookies.
