    Bevan's Cabbage Soup

    Source of Recipe

    From Memeber Beven

    List of Ingredients

    1 head of cabbage
    2 onions, sliced thin
    2 stocks of celery, chopped
five tomatos chopped or two cans of low/no sodium stewed tomatos
    3 cloves of garlic
    pepper to taste
2 pinch's or so of oregano
2 pinch's or so of parsley
one or two pinche's of basil
    1 package turkey Italian sausage
Put shredded cabbage into crock pot with two cans of no soduim added beef broth, cook on high while you do the rest of ingredients.

    Recipe

Cook 1 package turkey Italian sausage with a 1/4 inch water added on medium heat untill done, or water gone. Brown, remove, cut into bite sized peices. Add a half of cup water to pan, simmer, stirring to make a broth. Add to crockpot. Cut up and add rest of ingredients, for fuller flavor now add sausage also.

I cooked this part 5 hours, but the cabbage was not done... left it on low all night.
Made chicken and rice the next day, only then realizing that there was no carb's in soup... so remade it for dinner that night, cooking it on low again all day!

Marinaded 4 chicken breasts in 1/4 cub lime juice, two cloves of garlic, and cumen with a dash of pepper and parsley, while I cooked the other four rolled in a combo of 1 pinch of ground red pepper, 2 of paprika & oregano, & pepper 1/4 teaspoon chili powder & garlic powder. Cooked with a dash of the worchester sauce for chicken, and a couple dashes of lime juice to keep it from sticking! Cooked with a lid on the skillet slowly to keep juices in.
When done I kept the left over juice in a bowl and cooked the other chicken the same way. On removing 2nd batch I added both broth's together in the skillet and cooked package of 10 minute brown rice, it took a little longer then 10 minutes to get it tender.
Rice is quite spicy... I added one tablespoon of rice to soup as it would not fit in the tupperware... added a 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, stirred to get all the left-over seasonings out, added to soup. Left cooking on low all day!
At dinner time I added 2 oz. of chicken to my bowl and 1/2 cup of brown rice with three bite sized peices of the sausage, topped with the soup! Was way different then the night before! It is bit spicy so feel free to ease up a bit on the spices if if ya need too! Leaving out the red pepper would help... I don't know for sure how much I used as I dropped the can it the bowl!
