Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

� 12-oz pkg chocolate chips
� 1 cup butter
� 1 cup brown sugar
� 3 tsp vanilla
� 3 cups flour
� 1/4 cup milk
� 2 tbs shortening
� 1/4 cup light Karo syrup
� 2 tsp vanilla
Recipe
Chop 1/4 of the chocolate chips. Blend butter, brown sugar, and 3 tsp vanilla. Stir in flour, milk, and chopped chips. Shape in 1/2-inch balls. Place on Silpat-lined cookie sheet. Make depression in center of each cookie with thumb. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375F. Combine the rest of the chips and the shortening over hot water. Stir until melted. Remove from heat. Stir in Karo syrup, 2 tbs water, and the 2 tsp vanilla. Fill each cookie. Makes about 4 dozen.
