    Chicken Stew

    Source of Recipe

This recipe is from Sandy's Country Flavors at Mary Ellen's ThatsMyHome.

    Recipe Introduction

Sandy says this is one that I cook quite
often at home. My family loves it. It is especially good for cool days.
    Enjoy!

    List of Ingredients

    1 large chicken
    4 qts water
    4-5 medium potatoes
    1 medium onion
    3 carrots
    4 cups of flour

    Recipe

Boil chicken in water until falling off bone. Remove chicken and de-bone.
Return chicken to pot and simmer on low. Peel potatoes, carrots and onion.

Cut into small pieces and add to pot. Mix enough milk or water in 3 1/2 cups of the flour to make a slightly sticky dough. Turn onto floured surface and sprinkle with flour. Roll out dumplings thin. Cut into strips and add to pot.

Simmer on low 45 mins to an hour. Salt and pepper to taste. I also add a pinch of dill for that chicken soup flavor. Enjoy!
