    Mississippi Mud Bars


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup margarine
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 1-1/2 cups flour
    • 1/3 cup cocoa
    • 1 cup walnuts
    • 3 cups miniature marshmallows
    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 4 cups icing sugar
    • 1/3 cup cocoa
    • 1 cup walnuts
    • 1/2 cup evaporated milk


    Instructions


    1. Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Sift flour and cocoa together, beat in gradually. Stir in walnuts. Spoon batter into a greased 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

    2. Immediately sprinkle top of cake evenly with marshmallows. Return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes until marshmallows are slightly puffed. Cool 30 minutes.

    3. Icing: Cream margarine. Beat in combined sugar and cocoa, alternately with milk. Beat until icing is light and fluffy, fold in nuts. Spread over marshmallow layer. Chill, cut into bars.
