    Yummy Raisin Filled Cookies

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup butter
    2 cups sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    6 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    2 teaspoons salt
    2/3 cup sour milk or buttermilk

    Raisin Filling:
    3 cups raisins
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    3 tablespoons flour


    Recipe

    Cream butter with the sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.

    Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately to cream mixture with milk. Mix well. Cover and chill overnight.

    Raisin filling. Grind raisins. Mix with 1 1/2 cups water and the sugar and flour. Stir and simmer until thickened. Cool.

    Preheat oven to 375�

    Roll out cookie dough a portion at a time on a floured board or cloth. Cut with a 3-inch round cutter. Put a spoonful of filling in the center of one circle, moisten edges with a little water, top with another circle and press the edges firmly together with a fork.

    Bake for 17 to 20 minutes. Cool. Yield: about 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
