    1 pound raisins
    1 1/2 cups sugar
    1 cup Splenda
    8 cups flour
    6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    3/4 tablespoon nutmeg
    1 3/4 tablespoons cinnamon
    1 3/4 tablespoons cloves
    3 tablespoons baking powder
    1 cup shortening -- melted
    1 cup unsweetened applesauce
    2 cups black coffee

    Preheat oven to 350�. Combine dry ingredients. Melt shortening; add sugar, Splenda, applesauce, raisins, and coffee; add to dry ingredients. Roll into walnut sized balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet..

    Bake at 350� for 10 to 15 minutes.

    Glaze, if desired.

    Yield: 11 1/2 dozen
