    This is the ideal main dish for your Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner.

    List of Ingredients




    1 Plump Goose
    1 Unpeeled Gashed Orange
    1 Unpeeled Cored Apple
    Salt
    Pepper
    APPLE STUFFING:
    2 Quarts Soft Bread Crumbs (2 Days Old)
    4 Apples
    2 Tablespoons Minced Onion
    1 Teaspoon Salt
    1 Teaspoon Sage
    1/4 Teaspoon Paprika
    1/4 Teaspoon Summer Savory
    1/4 Teaspoon Thyme
    1/4 Teaspoon Sweet Marjoram
    1/4 Cup Milk

    Singe and carefully wash goose. Place 1 unpeeled gashed orange and 1 unpeeled cored apple in body cavity. Place on rack in open roasting pan in 500 degree oven for 30 minutes. (This preliminary heating draws off excess fat). Remove goose from oven; remove and discard fruit; let bird cool. When cool rub salt and pepper on inside and fill body cavity with Apple Stuffing (See Recipe Below). Sew or skewer openings and tie legs securely to body. Place on rack in open roasting pan and roast at 325 degrees, allowing 30 minutes for each pound.
    APPLE STUFFING: Tear bread into small pieces. Add finely chopped apple, onion, seasonings and milk. Toss lightly. Pack loosely into goose.
