Brown Sugar Biscuits for Fruit Shortcake

A perfect slightly sweet biscuit with a great texture and crumb! Use for any kind of fruit shortcake.
List of Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Heat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar and salt. Add the cream and mix to combine. Do not overmix.
With a 3 tablespoon scooper, scoop out 8-9 biscuits and place on baking sheet a couple of inches apart. Sprinkle heavily with the Demerara sugar and press tops lightly to flatten. Bake until done - about 16-18 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on a rack.
Makes 8-9 biscuits.
