5/8 cup water (I actually used 3/4 cup on a humid day)
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Recipe
1. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.
2. Select basic bread setting. Choose crust color and loaf size if available. (I used the medium crust setting, and it came out a little too light. You may want to up it to dark.)
3. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).
