    Recipe Introduction

This is a great "make ahead" recipe!! I always make this when we have "overnight" company and I have made it the day before Christmas for years (actually, I usually make two of them... varying the ingredients, because one is just not enough for the full-house we have every year!)It's so convenient on a busy morning to just take it from the fridge to the oven with all the work already done! Plus... I get to sit down and enjoy breakfast with everyone!!!

    List of Ingredients

1 lb. ground breakfast sausage (browned and drained)
    10 eggs
    2 1/4 cup milk
    3 slices white bread (cubed)
    2 cups shredded cheddar
    1/2 tsp. salt

    Recipe

    In large bowl, with whisk, mix milk, eggs and salt until well combined. Stir in Cheese, sausage and bread. Pour into 9"x13" lightly sprayed pan. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. **To make ahead;
Prepare according to directions, but do not bake. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 45-50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

    Substitions:
    In place of sausage:
1 lb. cooked bacon, broken into pieces
    1 lb. cubed ham
1 lb. cooked breakfast sausage links, cut into pieces
    In place of cheddar cheese:
Any shredded cheese of your choice
    Additions:
Mushrooms (sauteed fresh or canned & drained), sauteed onions, sauteed green, red or yellow peppers, scallions, diced tomatoes, cooked & diced potatoes.
My favorite combination is cheddar cheese, bacon, sauteed onion, and mushrooms!!
*****Note: Leftover squares can be cut horizontally, microwaved and put between toasted english muffins, bagels or croissants for a quick and easy breakfast.
