    Savory Couscous Dressing -- e-w

    Serves: 8

    2 c. water
    1-1/2 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1/2 c. shredded carrot
    1/3 c. thinly sliced green onion
    2 tsp instant chicken bouillon granules
    2 tsp. snipped fresh basil or thyme � or � 1/2 tsp. dried basil or thyme, crushed
    2 tsp. olive oil
    1 10-oz. pkg. quick-cooking couscous


    In medium saucepan, combine the first 5 ingredients and dried herb (if using) and oil. Bring to boiling. Stir in couscous and (if using) fresh herb. Remove from heat.

    Cover and let stand about 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.
