    Recipe Introduction

I make this dish for a lot of pot lucks and men seem to enjoy it. Also, can use deer meat cut into cubes for this.

    List of Ingredients

    3 Tbl Oil
    3 Cups Sliced Onion
4 Potatoes - cut in quarters
6 Carrots - cut in small chunks
1 1/2 Lbs. beef stew meat
    3 Cups Water
    2 1/4 tsp salt
    6 tsp Paprika

    Recipe

    Night before:

Heat oil. Add onions and salt. Cook, tossing occasionally with fork until onions are golden brown. Stir in 1 1/2 tsp of the paprika. Add beef. Cook and simmer 1 hour. Add rest of paprika and water and cook 1/2 hour longer. Store covered in refrigerator until dinner the next day. Add potatoes and carrots and cook covered 1/2 hour, or until potatoes and carrots are tender.

IF DESIRED: Remove veggies, make broth into gravy (I use cornstarch and water to thicken) - replace veggies and cook 15 minutes longer on low.
